I read a recommendation recently to always keep TBP in view (The Big Picture). TBP is the entire view. It is the broad, overall view of any issue or situation. It is like your friend when you ask, “How are you?” They answer, “I am fine, all things considered. And, there are a lot of things to consider.” Yes there are, when looking at TBP.
We easily lose sight of TBP when we become too fixated on smaller stuff. For instance, we might zero in on some things we dislike about ourselves and lose sight of the awesome person God made. Or, we might focus so intently on national and world news that we forget the little song “He’s got the whole world in His hands.”
God is always the biggest part of The Big Picture. One problem many people have (if I can be so bold as to presume), is they like to “follow the science” which too often leaves God out of the equation. That is the problem with the science of Darwinian evolution and Global Climate Change.
As you step back from your narrow view of things, and take in the whole picture or TBP, can you visualize this? “For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body that it may be conformed to His glorious body, according to the working by which He is able even to subdue all things to Himself” (Philippians 3:20-21).
TBP! We belong to the kingdom of God. Jesus is coming soon. He will change this mortal body. Hallelujah! Praise the Lord!
